St. Maarten: Day 2

November 17, 2012

Rick caught a really early flight this morning after waking up surrounded by empty rum punch glasses. He must have been hurting. Minnie and I spent an hour or so at Maho Beach before I saw her off at the airport. This beach is right on the one end of the airport landing strip. The planes come within (what looks like) 50 feet of your head as they land. When some of the bigger planes take off, people grab ahold of the fence and try to hang on as the jet propulsion blows them back with great force. It nearly kicks up all the sand on the beach. This can't be safe...

I spent the morning with Hank cleaning the boat for the owners. Washing & polishing a boat under the St. Maarten sun surely beats a day at the office. This is my kind of work.
