We tried putting up the whisker pole today for the first time in real sea conditions. Boy, was that a disaster. We got it out after like 30 mins of struggling, but the shape of the genoa was hideous. I don't think it was producing any power at all. The guy in the forespar video does it single-handed and it takes him like 60 seconds. We had 4 people going at it. I don't know what we're doing wrong!
After rolling around in a steaming hot bed for 4 hours, I finally moved up to the cockpit to sleep. I had no luck there so I went back to my old settee in the salon, put in my ear plugs, wrapped a dark shirt around my eyes and got a solid 3 hour sleep. Wooo!
