We cruised in early in the morning again and found a good mooring right near the wharf. It was pretty rough as we expected, but we were able to secure a moorage in one attempt (after a near miss).
We called in on arrival and found out Niue doesn't work on Sundays (they are very religious here) and on Saturdays, they barely work. Those who do only work in the mornings. So we figured customs wasn't going to meet us and started having arrival drinks and making dinner. But then we got a call on the VHF that they wanted to meet us in a half hour on the wharf. We had to quickly pack up and head to shore.
It was quite the experience, the dinghy dock (ie. wharf) here is even worse than the one I talked about in Panama. But I will leave that for my Day 3 post (I am writing this on Day 3), better story then.
